Born July 25, 1958 in Coral Gables, Florida, Moore moved to New York, co-founded Sonic Youth in 1981 with Kim Gordon, pioneered noise-rock guitar tunings, ran Ecstatic Peace! label and authored cassette-culture books. Still releasing solo analog work at 66.
